If you have been conned into paying into an online bitcoin investment scheme, or similar, through a website that claims to provide glowing financial returns – but doesn’t – and instead  have been ripped off and your funds are lost, there are a few things that you can do to create a safer environment for everyone on the internet.

If you paid via crypto-currency, then the chances of getting any of your cash back are quite small. In fact, the “authorities” tell us plainly that since crypto is not a recognised legal tender then they cannot help to retrieve the funds. That is, it is not likely that you get any money back.
